At a time when many were fearful and Guyana was described by author George Lamming as a “dangerous land”, the Reverend Dale Bisnauth came forward and his was a voice of conscience against authoritarianism. The Rev. Dale Bisnauth was fearless in his views both from the pulpit and, later, the political platform and in his influential newspaper articles, including those in Caribbean Contact.
It is not surprising therefore that he would have been appointed a Government Minister, firstly in Education to which portfolio he lent an image of morality and rectitude in public life and later in labour.
The death of Dr. Dale Bisnauth is mourned by all these whose lives he has touched with grace, humility and kindness.
The AFC mourns his passing as a great loss and expresses condolences to his bereaved family.
