The Leadership and Membership of the Alliance of Change is saddened at the death of its long-standing member, Bholan Boodhoo, proprietor of Horizon Bookshop, of 41 Third Street, Alberttown, who was struck down at around 5:00 am today, 8th November, 2013 at JB Singh Public  Road, Kitty, Georgetown, by a GPL mini bus whilst taking his morning walk with a friend who was also injured in the accident and hospitalised.  Bholan obtained his first degree in Economics at the University of Guyana in the early 1980’s and completed his Masters in England thereafter.  He served in the State Planning Secretariat for a number of years and also in the Ministry of Finance in the 1990’s and early 2000.  At the time of his death he was country agent for English Text Book Publishers, Longman/Heineman, publishers of texts book out of England.  He was originally from Stewartville, W. C. D.  He was recently assigned by the AFC leadership to participate in the 2014 tri-partite Budget talks.  He has been advising the AFC on matters of Economics and Finance for several years now.  His siblings include two brothers in the USA, a sister in Canada and two sisters in Guyana.  The AFC sympathizes with his grieving wife Mahadai Boodhoo.  He leaves to mourn his wife Mahadai Boodhoo, his daughter Sherry Sawh of USA and his three grandchildren along with his five siblings.  He was 65 years old.
