Aged 31, this mother of four is one of three women representing the Alliance For Change at the level of the National Assembly.
Presently a Pharmacy Assistant at the Mahdia District Hospital in Region Eight, Mrs. Marcellos brings to the Assembly a wealth of experience in a number of areas including the impact of mining on communities and the environment, issues affecting Amerindian people especially women and education in hinterland communities.
Her ability to speak fluent Patamona (Amerindian native language), enables her to communicate on a personal level with many of the elder Amerindian people who have witnessed changes in their traditional way of life. It has also helped her to become a trusted representative of the Amerindian people.
Proud of her Amerindian heritage, Mrs. Marcellos has a vested interest in the sustainable development of Guyana. This is her first time as a Member of Parliament but her years of working in the fields of education and health care delivery have prepared her to be of service.
