The 13th Parliament got underway on Monday, November 13, 2025, and from all appearances, it will be an eventful one. The looming issue of the election of a Leader of the Opposition is on everyone’s minds. The AFC expects that the Constitution will be abided by, and that in due course, we will have a new Leader of the Opposition. This will be the first time in the Party’s 20 year history that it has no serving members in the Parliament. Nonetheless, the Party’s leader remain engaged with the leaders of the opposition parties – WIN, APNU, and FGM, and have offered to assist in making their representation meaningful and impactful.
We wish all MPs of both the government and opposition, a successful five years and expect that the people of Guyana will be faithfully and beneficially served.
