AFC RESPONDS TO GECOM’S DECLARATION OF ELECTION RESULTS.

The Alliance for Change (AFC) has spent the last year preparing for the General and Regional Elections of 2025. Engaging with fellow citizens motivated us, adventures across our beautiful country inspired us, and we express our sincere gratitude to everyone who was part of this process.

Interacting with the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) was not without its challenges and now that the Commission has officially announced that the People’s Progressive Party Civic has won these elections, we accept the declaration and extend congratulations to Dr. Irfaan Ali.

The AFC has noted the comments of the Observer Missions on the process leading up to these elections including campaign finance and the misuse of state resources and hope that their recommendations will be taken into account by GECOM and the new administration.

The Alliance For Change takes this opportunity to thank the people of Guyana who exercised their right to vote and who remained peaceful over the past few days.
We remain committed to good governance in Guyana and will continue to advocate for justice, a fair share, equality and equity for all citizens.
