Meeting with residents at Kopinang

I leave Mahdia on 11 August for Kato.

I leave Kato 0n the 12 August accompany by the vice chairman for Kurukabaru. We spent the day and night there, meeting with residents discussing their concerns. We held 2 meetings there 1 at 12.00 hrs and 1 at 17.00 hrs.

Some of the residents concerns were:

1 . acoushi ants destroying their crops.

2. Mosquito nets not given to them, when they inquire they were told by the persons distributing the nets that they did not get because they supported the opposition at the last elections.

It must be noted that these nets was not distributes by the health dept. but by the DDOs and hinterland affairs workers all who happens to be PPP/C members.

3. The village need more stand pipes.

4. The Health Centre need transportation and a generator at the health post.

We leave Kurukubaru for Kopinang on Tuesday 13 August.

We spent the entire day in Kopinang walking around meeting with residents and some of our supporters listening to their concerned. The following morning we held a meeting with the residents telling them of our plans for the region and listen to their concerns.

Meeting with MP and residents of Tuseneng

 

Some of their concerns were.

  1. We leave Kopinang for Kamana on Wednesday 14 August for Kamana, we spent the rest of the day and overnight there, meeting with residents telling them of our plans for the region and listen to there concerns.They are not seeing their representatives in parliament whom they have voted for.
  2. They need market for their agriculture produces.
  3. They were also enquiring how they can access some of the LCDS funds from Norway for projects at Kopinang.
  4. They are not receiving any reading materials from the opposition only from the Gov’t side. They need to hear from the opposition especially concerning the reason for the budget cuts.
  5. They need an agent from Air Service Ltd.
  6. They need a grass cutter and would like to know wheather the party can donate one.
  1. The CDO is not visiting them.
  2. They need a propper water supply system.
  3. Problems with acoushi ants.Meeting with residents at Kamana
  4. Solars not functioning.

We also found the the CSOs employed by the ministry of Ameriandian Affairs had to have PPP/C party membership cards.

We leave Kamana for Parmakatoi on Thursday 15 August. I stop at Parmakatoi and the Vice chairman went back to Kato.

I was at Parmakatoi from Thursday to Monday meeting with residents listening to their concerns.
I leave Parmakatoi for Monkey Mountain on Monday 19 August.I attended a meeting on Monday 19 August with MP Marcello Clive Edwards and residents.

I spent four days at Monkey Mountain visiting residents listening to their concerns and also meeting some of our supporters.

I attended a meeting with the residents along with 3 RDC Councillors on Tuesday 20 August listening to their concerns and telling them of our plans for the Region.MP Marcello with miss Region 8 Ms Ameriandian Heritage

 Some of their concerns was:

  1. Community need a medical outreach.
  2. The road from Karasabai to Monkey Mountain that is being built by the Min. of Public Works is in a bad condition.
  3. Residents of  section 2 need is in need of portable water. They need a well to be dug and a solar pump installed to pump the water.
  4. Only 20 families receive solars.
  5. Problems with acoushi ants.
  6. The agri. officers need a new fogging machine, chemicals and an ATV to control the acoushi ants.
  7. They need a postal agent since they have problems sending and receiving mails.
  8. They need to see their Parliamentary reps.

I leave Monkey Mountain for Tusening on Thursday 22 August.Meeting with residents of Kopinang Some of they concerns:I met up MP Marcello at Tusehing where we had a meeting with the residents listening to their concerns.

  1. Solars that was given to them are not working, they were told that becaust they voted for the opposition they cannot receive good ones.
  2. The DDO station at Monkey Mountain is not assisting the village in any because they are opposition supporters. On one occasion he refuse to pick up a sick patient at Tusening saying  let them suffer they are AFC.Disfuctional solars given to residents of Tuseneng

I leave Tusening for Parmakatoi .

I spent from Thursday Sunday at Parmakatoi meeting with residents listening to their concerns.

On Saturday 25  August I attended the miss Region 8 Ms Ameriandian Heritage Pageant where I give over $200.000 to the organizer to assist with the prices for the pageant.

I leave Parmakatoi for Mahdia on Monday 26 August.
Party Supporters.What I found from my trips is that  the DDOs,  CDOs, Hinterland affairsworkers, and REO  who were suppose to be doing works for theircommunities are doing party work. Also the CSOs  ( Community Support Officers )  who are being employed by the Min. of Ameriandian CSO is for

I also Learn that REO Harsawack was at Kato on Saturday 24 August conducting a PYO training workshop.

Meeting with MP and residents at Parmakatoi

 

I also learn that every month a top level Gov’t reps along with a representative from the Min. of Ameriandian Affairs is visits the region to do party work.

It is important  that we expose what these CDOs, DDOs, REO, AREO, and hinterland affairs workers are doing.

 

 

 

The DDOs  are doing party work from village to village collecting subsistences gov’t.
