FREEZE NATIONAL DEBT

• Guyana’s G$ “nominal” public debt is close to $400 Billion. It spends MORE than it gets in revenues. It cannot balance national budget. PPP borrows from foreigners and Guyanese alike. External and domestic debt makes up public debt.
• Corrupppt government has been on spending spree. During 2000-2013, budgetary allocations about  G$1,500,000,000,000.00 (one and a half trillion dollars). PPP spending people’s money like bussie (padi husks). In 1992, public debt was about G$263 Billion, most of which was written off. PPP pawning Guyana’s future.  Guyana now in vicious debt circle, like a dog chasing own tail.
• PPP Government has no plan, no vision. It borrows billions for flight-by-night projects. For 20 years, PPP mostly fixing roads, stellings, bridges, airport. PPP is “we bruk am; we fix am” government. No industry, no jobs!
• Today, every citizen carries a debt burden of over G$500,000! Benefits are taken away from our children and pensioners, and workers pay taxes to feed debt sharks. 2013 debt interest & payment is $10 billion. We feed super-salaried “fat cats”, million $$ pensions, and pay for kick-backs! Guyana now is No 1 corrupppt country in Caribbean. PPP refuses to enforce procurement and integrity laws to stop it.

EVERY DOLLAR BORROWED WILL HAVE TO BE REPAID BY GUYANA’S CHILDREN.

• Every child born in Guyana in 2013 will fetch over G$500,000.00 debt!
• Under PPP we have more debt; less jobs. Economists call this “Jobless Growth”.  Debt feeds corruption. Debt could rule and ruin our lives. Look at Cyprus & Greece. More $$ for debt servicing means less for wages, pensions, education, health, water, housing, etc.. We could head towards a Dictatorship of Debt.

AFC CALLS for cuts in wasteful public spending to reduce fiscal deficit. Axe the DEBT.
