The AFC has been made aware that the PPP administration, obviously afraid of the growing influence of the AFC, has unveiled its latest series of attacks against the leadership of the Party by circulating flyers promoting the fictitious candidacy of leader, Raphael Trotman, for President. Mr. Trotman has repeatedly indicated that he will not be seeking such a nomination, but will be endorsing Khemraj Ramjattan for that candidacy.
The Party has been reliably informed that the dirty-tricks department of the Office of the President that engages in character assassinations of leading citizens, organises paid picketers, introduces the filthiest material on the internet, lies, and issues false reports and releases, is behind the latest move to discredit AFC leaders and to sow seeds of division and confusion within its support base. The PPP is confirming daily, that it has become a vicious, insidious and very destructive force that has lost legitimacy to govern. People want change and will soon have an opportunity to cast off the tyranny of the PPP as its days are clearly numbered.
The membership of the Party has been sufficiently briefed to prepare for an unprecedented onslaught of attacks against the leadership, to ignore the propaganda and to focus on the task of preparing to remove the failed regime at the upcoming elections. Success only comes after long struggle so the PPP’s attacks will only serve to galvanise, focus, and sharpen the Party to overcome the challenges and resistance being mounted against it.
