The Leadership and Membership of the Alliance of Change is saddened at the death of its long-standing member, Bholan Boodhoo, proprietor of Horizon Bookshop,\u00a0of 41 Third Street, Alberttown,\u00a0who was struck down at around 5:00 am today, 8th November, 2013 at JB Singh Public \u00a0Road, Kitty, Georgetown, by a GPL mini bus whilst taking his morning walk\u00a0with a friend who was also\u00a0injured in the accident and hospitalised.\u00a0\u00a0Bholan obtained\u00a0his first degree in Economics at the University of Guyana in the early 1980’s and completed his Masters in England thereafter.\u00a0 He served in the State Planning Secretariat for a number of years and also in the Ministry of Finance in the 1990’s and early 2000.\u00a0 At the time of\u00a0his death he was country agent for English Text Book Publishers, Longman\/Heineman, publishers of texts book out of England.\u00a0 He was originally\u00a0from Stewartville, W. C. D.\u00a0 He was recently\u00a0assigned by the AFC leadership to participate in the 2014 tri-partite Budget talks. \u00a0He has been advising the AFC on matters of Economics and Finance for several years now.\u00a0 His siblings include two brothers in the USA, a sister in Canada and two sisters in Guyana.\u00a0 The AFC sympathizes with his grieving\u00a0wife Mahadai Boodhoo.\u00a0 He leaves to mourn his wife Mahadai Boodhoo, his daughter Sherry Sawh of USA and his three grandchildren along with his\u00a0five siblings.\u00a0 He was 65 years old.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
