PRESS RELEASE<\/strong><\/p>\n AFC Condemns GCB \u2019s politicizing cricket in Guyana with its unprecedented endorsement of the PPPC \u2013 Dr. Vince Adams<\/strong> Upon being called out for such an open exhibition of political bias coming from a national organization that is mandated by the International Cricket Council (ICC) to be impartial with regards to political alignments, Mr. Singh doubled down to pitch that \u201cPresident Ali is a leader of exceptional charisma, vision, and integrity. His commitment to building One Guyana (PPPC political slogan) \u2013 a nation where all people, regardless of background, ethnicity, or political persuasion, have the opportunity to thrive \u2013 is well known\u201d.<\/p>\n Mr. Singh is supposed to be a man of intelligence, so, it would be unfathomable for him to think that anyone would not find his statement to be nothing but a full-throated advertisement for on behalf of the PPPC. By his very own words, Mr. Singh avows that the GCB is \u201capolitical\u201d, so, it is mindboggling that he wants to claim that the GCB is \u201capolitical\u201d, but at the same time openly and unambiguously endorse the PPPC which is a political party? How could Mr. Singh so insultingly take Guyanese to be such fools? Or, is it that Mr. Singh is incapable of grasping that \u201capolitical\u201d simply means politically disinterested, nonpartisan, impartial, neutral, nonaligned, unbiased. How could endorsing a political party, especially in such a politically sensitive country as Guyana, not be anything but \u201capolitical\u201d?<\/p>\n Mr. Singh unquestionably has the unmitigated right to endorse whosoever he wants and whichever political party he wants, but he has absolutely no right to commandeer the rights of all of the clubs and their membership claiming to speak on their behalf.
