Humble, approachable, outspoken and exuding a passion for God, international affairs and politics is how those who know Trevor best would describe him. This promising advocate for youth is firmly committed to seeing a Guyana in which the livelihood and lifestyle of citizens improve consistently. This is based on his belief that government must play the role of guardian or protector of national development, grounded in the rule of law, a vibrant democracy and equal opportunities and rights for all, for the wealth of the country.

Coming from modest beginnings, his training in a religious and multicultural cultural environment as a missionary has enabled him to connect to Guyanese of all walks of life. Although a secondary education eluded him for reasons beyond his control, he never gave up the pursuit for personal development. This led him being trained in the Hauraruni Intl Missionary Training Centre where for four years he worked ,lived and studied while travelling extensively across Guyana..

Trevor continued his Education at the Critchlow Labour College (CLC), copping Best Graduating Student, thence to the University of Guyana (UG) where he graduated with a Degree in International Relations. During his tenure at the UG, Trevor was afforded the opportunity to function in a number of capacities which nurtured his natural gift of leadership and inclination towards politics and international affairs. Some of these experiences include serving as, Senior Vice President of the University of Guyana International Affairs Association (UGIAA), Head Delegate at the United Nations Americas Model (UNAM) in Brazil and Liaison Officer at the 19th Meeting of Foreign Ministers and Heads of State of the Rio Group, held in Guyana in 2007.

Moreover, during a stint as National Coordinator for the Caribbean Youth Environmental Network (CYEN), Trevor participated in Youth Leadership Conferences in both Barbados and Trinidad, which focused on the promotion of South-South Cooperation and Sustainable Development. However, it was his participation as one of Guyana’s Representatives in the Phillip C. Jessop International Moot Court Competition in the United States, which sparked his interest in Law, a subject he hopes to one day pursue.

An avid sports enthusiast, Trevor can often be seen engrossed in the sports section of the newspapers or otherwise keenly following a cricket or football match on television if not at the live game. He is of the opinion that sports is a meaningful and uplifting pastime for youths hence his association with the Timerhi Panters Football Club, serving in the capacity of President.

Trevor’s interest in politics all started with a desire to get involved in what was happening around him and his advice to young people is simply to show interest in what is going on around you since the future of your country depends on it. Though his story of excelling against the odds is not an everyday case, he does not plan for it to remain so. He intends to inspire other young people in Guyana to take up the mantle and rise from the ashes of apathy and mediocrity to be the change we so desire to see in our dear country.
