GEORGETOWN \u2013 The newly formed A Partnership for National Unity and<\/p>\n
Alliance For Change coalition today held a workshop at the Oceanview<\/p>\n
Convention Centre to fine tune the regional campaign strategies and plans.<\/p>\n
Delivering the opening address APNU+AFC Prime Ministerial Candidate Moses<\/p>\n
Nagamootoo told the large gathering of party officials that he is confident that<\/p>\n
APNU+AFC will win the May 11 General Elections and \u201csecure Guyana from the<\/p>\n
precipice of disaster\u201d.<\/p>\n
He appealed to the representatives and officials from all ten administrative<\/p>\n
regions to \u201cembody the new oneness of APNU+AFC\u201d as they campaign across the<\/p>\n
country.<\/p>\n
Nagamootoo, also the AFC Vice Chairman, said that the PPP has already begun to<\/p>\n
show signs of wanting to engage in a dirty campaign and he implored the<\/p>\n
delegates to \u201cremain calm in the face of attack\u201d but warned that APNU+AFC<\/p>\n
\u201ccannot remain inactive in the face of distortion.\u201d<\/p>\n
The veteran politician said that the feedback he has gotten from being in the<\/p>\n
villages and the rural areas is that the APNU+AFC coalition has the PPP<\/p>\n
\u201cbazoodee\u201d and that \u201cthey are in a state of shock and panic which is causing them<\/p>\n
to make mistakes every day.\u201d<\/p>\n
The strategy and planning workshop was geared towards putting the finishing<\/p>\n
touches on the regional campaign strategies for each of the ten administrative<\/p>\n
regions while linking into the national campaign plan.<\/p>\n
Nagamootoo reiterated that APNU+AFC campaign must not seek to match the<\/p>\n
PPP in dirty politics.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are not here for vengeance, we are not here to discriminate anyone, we are<\/p>\n
not here to practice nepotism, patronage or cronyism. We have to hold out the<\/p>\n
olive branch. We are the peacemakers, we are filled with magnanimity and in our<\/p>\n
home that is Guyana, there is room for all. All are aboard this express train that<\/p>\n
will lead Guyana forward under an APNU+AFC government,\u201d Nagamootoo<\/p>\n
charged to resounding applause from the delegates.<\/p>\n
Campaign Committee Co-Chairman Joe Harmon and Co-Chairpersons of the<\/p>\n
Campaign Communications Committee Cathy Hughes and Mark Archer also<\/p>\n
address the delegates while Amna Ally moderated the proceedings.<\/p>\n
Also in attendance were Campaign Committee Co-Chairman Raphael Trotman,<\/p>\n
APNU parliamentarians Carl Greenidge, Volda Lawrence and Christopher Jones.<\/p>\n
AFC parliamentarians Valerie Lowe, Eula Marcello, Trevor Williams, Verasammy<\/p>\n
Ramaya, Leader Khemraj Ramjattan and AFC Chairman Nigel Hughes were all in<\/p>\n
attendance.<\/p>\n
