The Alliance for Change (AFC) shares the grief and loss of the Government and Venezuelan people on the death of President Hugo Chavez.<\/p>\n
President Hugo Chavez has been a larger than life leader who, as a true soldier, gave his life in the service of his people, his country and the whole of Latin America and the Caribbean.
\nHe would be remembered as a friend of Guyana not only for ensuring that we get fuel on concessionary terms, but for choosing the path of peaceful resolution of territorial issues.
\nThis will be a difficult time for our sisters and brothers of Venezuela, and for our large Guyanese immigrant population in Venezuela, who identified with Chavez as a benevolent leader.
\nThe AFC hopes for a peaceful and democratic transition in Venezuela.<\/p>\n
